मुख्य परीक्षा चयन का दूसरा चरण है, जिसे समय अवधि के 2 घंटे के भीतर पूरा करना आवश्यक है। उसी का परीक्षा पैटर्न इस प्रकार है:

Bihar Police SI Mains Qualifying Marks
बिहार पुलिस एसआई मेन्स परीक्षा में न्यूनतम योग्यता अंक विभिन्न श्रेणियों के लिए अलग-अलग हैं जो निम्नानुसार हैं:
- For SC/ST & Female Candidates - 32%
- For Extremely Backward Class Candidates - 34%
- For Backward Class Candidates - 36.5%
- For General Category Candidates - 40%
